Volunteering at CamAssistance

“Education is crucial to success against the HIV/AIDS pandemic. In fact, UNICEF remains convinced that until an effective remedy is found, education is one of the most effective tools for curbing HIV/AIDS.” Carol Bellamy Executive Director UNICEF

Volunteers are truly the heart of CamAssistance, offering intelligence, energy, imagination and love to help others whose lives are touched by HIV/AIDS, Infectious and Neglected Diseases in Africa. Our volunteers help in so many ways, each offering individual talents that combine to weave the unique web of information and support we know as CamAssistance.

1.) Direct client service as Helpliner, Buddy, Medical Appointment Planner, or on our CamAssistance Health Education Team.

2.) Administrative support which includes such projects as keeping the library information up-to-date, computer work, writing, assembling mailings and marketing and public relations.

3.) Our volunteers connect at our monthly volunteer/staff potlucks, mailing parties, trainings, helping at special fundraising or outreach events, and at our volunteer recognition events.

4.) Internship in an African country.

Training is provided for all positions. For more detailed descriptions of some of our volunteer opportunities click here.
